To start with, it took up retro fitting services for the Indian Navy. In due course of time, the company has expanded its role to become a Technology Solutions Provider for the Defence domain in general and Indian Navy in particular. C2C DB Systems operates in three verticals viz. Software Development, System Design and Obsolescence Management. As a company that operates in the niche area in the defence domain it is imperative that we are technology leaders in the area of specialization. Our policies, procedures and organizational metrics ensure that we stay on top of technology at all times.
Our area of operations mandates us to provide innovative solutions to customer’s problems, which is our USP. Hence innovating new ways of achieving a task has become the norm for all employees.

CMS (Combat Management System)
A Combat Management System is a comprehensive real-time decision support system comprising of multiple applications designed specifically to perform a centralized control and combat for the warship. It is a recommendation system which utilizes the Surface, Air and Sub-surface sensors to capture information about the environment, generate a common tactical picture and decide operations to be performed as per the current scenario. Ship borne sensors and the task force units participate to provide the basic set of information required to create plans to handle threats, utilizing the weapons and gunnery equipment available onboard the ship and with associated task force ships and to carry out offensive and defensive operations.
C2C DB Systems has been operating in the domain of Combat Management System (CMS) from 2011. During this period, the company has built a considerable expertise in design and development of CMS. The basic approach has been to approach the System from a Program perspective rather than a project perspective. After a detailed study of all the features expected from a CMS, the software modules have been basically categorized into three types viz. Platform Independent, Platform Adapted and Platform Specific. All Platform Independent modules have been designed, developed and extensively tested so that they can form the part of any new CMS without any changes. All Platform Adapted modules have been designed with a view that the same module can be used across various classes of ships with minimal adaptation. This is done by using configuration and initialization file thus obviating recompiling of the code. Use of Platform Independent and Platform Adapted modules which form a large percentage of the CMS ensures that Platform specific software is minimal thus ensuring that a CMS can be deployed in minimum time.
Another approach has been to analyse the CMS with respect to its features in various warfare roles. This has been done with an aim to identify a bouquet of functions that are required all classes of ships. This bouquet of functions is termed as the core CMS and all software interfaces / interactions are modelled in such a way that additional functionalities are added without disturbing the core.
A CMS based on the above approaches has been deployed and tested on various warships.
